AI referral analytics

Know which AI assistants send people to your website.

Chad identifies attributable human referrals from known AI origins, then connects those visits to the website activity your team actually cares about.

Short answer

AI referral analytics measures people who arrive from AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot, or Grok. It is different from AI crawler analytics, which measures machine requests to your server.

Start with a trustworthy source signal

Chad classifies a visit as an AI referral when the browser referrer matches a known AI origin. Campaign parameters are retained as campaign data, but are not used by themselves to impersonate an AI referrer.

  • Visitors and sessions by AI source.
  • Landing pages and subsequent anonymous journeys.
  • Configured goals, funnel progress, and attributed revenue.
  • Current-period comparisons in scheduled or on-demand reports.

Keep unknown traffic honest

AI assistants do not always preserve referrer data. When the signal is missing, Chad reports Direct or Unknown rather than manufacturing certainty. That makes the measured AI channel conservative but explainable.

Read the report in Slack, Teams, or your agent

Chad delivers scheduled summaries and answers questions in Slack or Microsoft Teams. A private hosted MCP connection lets Codex, Claude Code, and Cursor query the same read-only analytics.

FAQ

Common questions

Which AI referrers can Chad recognize?

Chad includes known origins for major assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot, and Grok, and the list can evolve as referral patterns change.

Is a UTM parameter proof that a visit came from an AI?

No. Chad stores campaign tags but requires an independent source signal before classifying a visit as an AI referral.

Are AI referrals and AI crawler traffic combined?

No. Human visits and machine requests are deliberately separate reports.
