AI referral analytics measures people who arrive from AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot, or Grok. It is different from AI crawler analytics, which measures machine requests to your server.
Start with a trustworthy source signal
Chad classifies a visit as an AI referral when the browser referrer matches a known AI origin. Campaign parameters are retained as campaign data, but are not used by themselves to impersonate an AI referrer.

Keep unknown traffic honest
AI assistants do not always preserve referrer data. When the signal is missing, Chad reports Direct or Unknown rather than manufacturing certainty. That makes the measured AI channel conservative but explainable.
