Privacy Terms Support Back to Chad

The agreement, in human language

Terms you can actually read.

Chad counts website traffic, reports it in Slack or Teams, and—when you ask—can install the snippet while you watch. These terms set the ground rules for using those services.

1. Acceptance and authority

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Chad Analytics (“Chad,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By visiting the Service, connecting Slack or Microsoft Teams, installing the snippet, authorizing browser automation, starting a trial, or otherwise using Chad, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

If you use Chad for a company or other organization, you represent that you have authority to accept these Terms for it. You must be legally able to enter a contract and at least 18 years old.

2. What Chad provides

Chad is a website-analytics and reporting service. Depending on your plan and configuration, the Service may:

  • collect cookieless website pageview, referrer, campaign, AI referral, coarse device and location, goal, and crawler events using the first-party browser storage described in the Privacy Policy;
  • calculate sessions, bounce rate, anonymous journeys, custom-goal conversions, funnels, and drop-off;
  • attribute revenue when you configure a supported commerce or payment connection;
  • send scheduled reports and notifications to Slack or Microsoft Teams;
  • answer questions about the analytics data available to your account;
  • provide tenant- and site-scoped read-only analytics to an MCP client you authorize;
  • detect a website platform and provide installation instructions or code; and
  • use a watched remote browser and AI agent to add, save, verify, and publish the Chad snippet on a site you authorize.

We may improve, add, remove, or change features. Preview, beta, and early-access features may be less reliable and may change without notice.

3. Accounts and integrations

Your connected Slack workspace or Teams installation may serve as your Chad account identity. You are responsible for controlling access to those systems, keeping authorized-user access current, and promptly revoking integrations you no longer use.

You authorize Chad to use the permissions displayed during an integration’s consent flow to create or join the designated reporting channel, post reports and replies, and respond to commands, @mentions, or follow-up messages inside active Chad threads. You understand that messages posted to a shared channel can be seen by people who have access to that channel.

You must provide accurate domain and configuration information and may connect only sites, workspaces, channels, MCP clients, commerce providers, payment providers, and accounts you own or are authorized to administer. You are responsible for protecting and revoking integration and MCP credentials issued to you.

4. Authorization for the watched browser installer

When you select “Do it for me, Chad,” you expressly authorize Chad and its browser-automation provider to operate a remote browser in the account and site you select. The expected task may include navigating site settings, opening custom-code areas, inserting or updating the Chad snippet, saving settings, publishing the site, and checking the public site.

You sign in; then Chad takes over. You enter credentials and complete multifactor authentication or human checks in the remote browser. Chad’s account database does not store your password. The browser session may process authenticated cookies, page content, screenshots, and recordings as described in the Privacy Policy.

The live view is provided so you can watch the agent work. You can close or stop the session. You are responsible for reviewing the target site and the published result, especially if the website contains important custom code or business-critical functionality. Browser automation can fail, click the wrong control, encounter an unexpected interface, or publish an unintended change.

Chad will not bypass CAPTCHA, multifactor authentication, access controls, or other human-verification measures. You must complete those steps yourself.

5. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • having all rights and permissions needed to measure the website and process its visitors’ data;
  • giving legally required notices and collecting legally required consent on your website;
  • not placing sensitive personal information in page URLs, campaign parameters, goal properties, identity traits, commands, Slack or Teams messages sent to Chad, or support messages;
  • confirming your website plan supports custom code and maintaining a reasonable backup or rollback path before automated changes;
  • reviewing analytics reports, AI answers, automated changes, and published results; and
  • using the Service in compliance with applicable law and the rules of Slack, Microsoft, your website platform, and any other connected service.

6. Acceptable use

You may not use Chad to:

  • access or change an account, site, workspace, or data without authorization;
  • collect health, financial, precise-location, children’s, authentication, or other highly sensitive data through URLs or analytics fields;
  • violate privacy, consumer-protection, communications, export-control, sanctions, intellectual-property, or other laws;
  • circumvent security, rate limits, human checks, product restrictions, or third-party terms;
  • introduce malware, interfere with the Service, probe systems without permission, or expose another customer’s data;
  • resell or provide the Service as a competing product without written permission; or
  • use Slack data, Teams data, customer content, or Service output to train a large language model in violation of applicable platform rules.

We may investigate suspected abuse and suspend access when reasonably necessary to protect customers, providers, the public, or the Service.

7. Customer content and data

You retain ownership of the domains, code, content, analytics data, commands, and other information you submit or connect (“Customer Content”). You grant Chad a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, process, transmit, reproduce, and display Customer Content only as needed to provide, secure, support, and improve the Service or comply with law.

You represent that you have the rights needed to provide Customer Content and grant this license. We may use aggregate or de-identified information that cannot reasonably identify you, a workspace, or a website visitor to understand and improve the Service.

Our handling of personal information is described in the Privacy Policy. If you need a data-processing agreement for your organization, contact us.

8. AI-generated answers and actions

Some Chad answers, summaries, insights, platform detections, and browser actions use generative AI. AI may produce incomplete, inaccurate, or unexpected results. Chad is designed to ground analytics answers in available data, but you must verify output before relying on it.

Do not use Chad as a substitute for professional advice or as the sole basis for legal, medical, employment, credit, housing, insurance, safety, or other high-impact decisions. You are responsible for decisions and actions you take based on Service output.

9. Third-party services

The Service interoperates with third parties such as Slack, Microsoft Teams, Browser Use, Anthropic, Stripe, Railway, Supabase, and website-publishing platforms. Your use of each third party is governed by its own terms and privacy policy. Chad is not responsible for a third party’s availability, security, changes, acts, or omissions.

A platform may change its interface or block automation, and an integration may stop working. We may modify or discontinue an integration when needed to remain secure or comply with platform rules.

10. Trials, fees, and billing

Plan features, trial duration, and prices are shown before purchase and may change prospectively. Unless checkout says otherwise, paid subscriptions renew automatically for the selected billing period until canceled. Stripe processes payments.

You authorize recurring charges and are responsible for applicable taxes. You can cancel through the available billing controls or by contacting us. Cancellation stops future renewals but does not retroactively refund amounts already paid, except where required by law or expressly stated at purchase.

If payment fails, we may limit paid features after reasonable notice. We may change fees with advance notice that is reasonable under the circumstances; a change applies no earlier than your next renewal after the stated effective date.

11. Chad’s ownership

Chad and its licensors own the Service, including its software, design, documentation, brand, models, and all related intellectual-property rights, except for Customer Content and third-party materials. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for your internal business purposes during your subscription.

If you send feedback, you allow us to use it without restriction or compensation, while keeping any confidential Customer Content protected.

12. Suspension and termination

You may stop using Chad, remove the snippet, revoke integrations, or request account deletion at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially violate these Terms, create a security or legal risk, do not pay applicable fees, or if continuing the Service becomes unlawful or technically impractical.

When practical, we will provide notice and an opportunity to cure. Sections that by their nature should survive—such as ownership, payment obligations, disclaimers, limitations, and indemnity—remain in effect after termination.

13. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” Chad disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty arising from course of dealing or usage of trade.

We do not promise that analytics will count every visit, that source attribution will always be correct, that reports or AI output will be error-free, that browser automation will complete, or that the Service will be uninterrupted. Browser settings, blockers, network conditions, platform changes, referrer restrictions, and bots can affect results.

Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or right that cannot legally be excluded.

14. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Chad and its suppliers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; lost profits, revenue, goodwill, or data; business interruption; or the cost of substitute services, even if advised that such loss was possible.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Chad’s total liability arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid Chad during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or (b) US $100.

These limits apply to all theories of liability and do not limit liability that applicable law does not allow us to limit.

15. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you will defend and indemnify Chad and its personnel from third-party claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your Customer Content, your website or privacy notices, your violation of these Terms or law, or your unauthorized use of a third-party account. We will promptly notify you and allow you to control the defense, provided you may not settle a claim in a way that admits fault by or imposes obligations on Chad without our written consent.

16. Changes to the Service or these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect product, legal, security, or business changes. We will post the updated Terms and revise the date above. For material changes, we will provide reasonable additional notice through the Service, a connected workspace, or other available contact method. Continuing to use Chad after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.

17. General terms

These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement about the Service and replace prior discussions about it. If one provision is unenforceable, the rest remains effective. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; Chad may assign them as part of a reorganization, financing, merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

Neither party is liable for delay caused by events outside its reasonable control. These Terms do not create an employment, agency, partnership, or joint-venture relationship. Headings are for convenience only.

Before filing a formal claim, you agree to email us and try in good faith to resolve the dispute informally for 30 days, unless urgent injunctive relief is necessary or applicable law prohibits this requirement.

18. Contact us
